My Story

I created J.W. Lee Photography in 2008 after a lifelong passion for photography. Upon retiring from the U.S. Navy and Government Contracting I decided to make my part-time photography job a full-time venture. I am a Columbia College Alumnus, a loving husband, and father, a five-time Tough Mudder Legionnaire, and an avid outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, cooking and grilling, drumming, kayaking, camping, hiking, and exploring. I have been fortunate to have been able to travel to many places on this earth and have experienced many different cultures and climates. From -60° in Iceland to 160° in the Middle East, to sailing and flying across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, I have experienced a lot in my lifetime. I enjoy bringing those experiences to life in my images, and always look forward to working with new and exciting people, families, and places!
